Media & Repertoire

Ronja Bosshard's soprano voice combines power, clarity and a sense of style - supported by a solid technique that unfolds effectively in the baroque and classical repertoire as well as in romantic music. Stylistic precision is just as important as tonal presence. The voice has a colourful, high-pitched soprano with a clear foundation, a natural radiance and a pronounced feeling for coloratura. The interpreter brings meaning to every era - and with the energy of her own artistic signature.

Here you will find selected recordings from opera and oratorio as well as an overview of the repertoire.

About me

Ronja Bosshard grew up in the Zurich Oberland and showed a pronounced musicality from an early age. She learnt the harp and piano and discovered singing first in the family environment and later in the school choir. She received her first singing lessons from Grace Imer.

After graduating from high school, she decided to study musicology and Italian at the University of Zurich. At the same time, she completed preliminary musical studies at the Zurich Conservatory with Martina Bovet - and after two years switched completely to vocal studies. She initially studied with Jane Thorner until her Bachelor's degree and then completed an Erasmus year at the Milan Conservatory with Silvana Manga. Back in Zurich, she completed a Master's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Performance Concert with Scot Weir.

Due to her outstanding achievements, she won prizes at international singing competitions and received valuable impulses in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Luciana Serra, Barbara Frittoli, Ricarda Merbeth, René Pape and Daniel Fuetter.

Her current repertoire includes over thirty complete roles as well as arias and ensembles from around fifty other works. Ronja Bosshard is now a sought-after concert singer and is regularly engaged for opera productions in Switzerland and throughout Europe. She has already appeared on the stages of renowned opera houses such as the Zurich Opera House, the Tonhalle Zurich and the Verbier Festival, the Salzburg Festival and the Basel Theatre.

With great passion and a clear focus, she combines expression and depth to create a voice characterised by technical virtuosity and a fine sense of style. The intensive examination of her own instrument, a reflective artistic attitude and the continuous demand for interpretation and interpretation at the highest level form a vocal profile that combines clarity, presence and reliability - supported by the conviction that music only really blossoms when it arises from inner truthfulness.

In the current 2024/2025 season, she has sung Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Exsultate, jubilate, Bach's cantata BWV 58, Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème, the Contessa in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Adina in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, among others.
